Building the future

It’s finally happening: After three years of meticulous planning, the International Department (ID) has successfully completed the construction of a new auditorium, fully accessible and equipped with cutting-edge technology.

Construction officially began on February 10, 2022, and by early 2024, the auditorium was complete. On April 26, 2024, we celebrated the inauguration of the new lecture halls, with the central courtyard finalized in June 2024.

The Hector Foundation, and a special thanks to Senator Dr. Hans-Werner Hector, have the objectives of the International Department close to their hearts. The ID serves as a gateway for young talented students who aspire to study in Germany at the KIT. They contribute to bringing prosperity and peace to societies through the skills they bring with them, but also the skills they are taught here.

At the International Department, our goal is to provide an environment that enables successful study and engagement with the latest developments in engineering and the sciences.
